Support the movement
We, the undersigned, are deeply concerned about the increasing presence of non-service dogs in public food spaces, which undermines the safety, accessibility, and integrity of these environments.
Non-service dogs in public food spaces can pose hygiene risks, create disruptions, and compromise the safety of patrons, particularly individuals with disabilities who rely on genuine service dogs for assistance. Additionally, the proliferation of fake service dogs can erode trust in legitimate service dog teams and hinder their ability to navigate public spaces with dignity and respect.
We believe that public food spaces should be welcoming and safe environments for all individuals, including those with disabilities and genuine service dog companions. Therefore, we support the Pause the Paws movement and call for the following actions:
Strict enforcement of regulations to prevent non-service dogs from entering public food spaces.
Education and awareness campaigns to inform the public about the rights and responsibilities of service dog owners and the dangers of misrepresenting non-service dogs as service animals.
Collaboration between policymakers, legislators, business owners, and advocacy groups to ensure that public spaces remain accessible and inclusive for all individuals.
We urge policymakers, legislators, and business owners to take decisive action to address this issue and uphold the rights and safety of individuals with disabilities and genuine service dog companions.
Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
